CALISTHENIC SKILLS
Calisthenics ACT
Incorp. encourages girls to participate in the
Calisthenics Skills Program. The program gives
participants an opportunity to learn correct
calisthenic terminology and improve their own
technique and presentation. Involvement in the
Calisthenic Skills Program will greatly assist the
participant and her club, resulting in greater
enjoyment and extension from participation in
calisthenics. CACTI holds Calisthenics skills
classes throughout August and September. The
program consists of approx 8 hours of lessons and an
examination. Classes are of one and a half
hours duration. It is strongly recommended
that the girls have at least 12 months calisthenics
experience prior to participation in the Skills
Program. The recommended ages for skills are:

Girls are required to
present at exams in a strict dress code. To
present for the examination, candidates must be
fully prepared and thoroughly conversant with their
syllabus. Candidates are expected to be
disciplined in their presentation and behaviour, and
courteous and attentive throughout the examination,
which takes about 40 minutes. A mark of 60% in
each section must be gained to pass the overall
examination. All candidates receive a written
crit paper of their performance from the examiner
that is posted out. Upon successful completion
of the program certificates and patches are
presented at the appropriate age section at the
CACTI championships in November.
