Action Calisthenics Incorporated is a
North-Based Canberra club which operates on the basis of
providing a friendly atmosphere where participants can enjoy
the sport of Calisthenics. Club members learn routines, that
are taught by our experienced and dedicated coaching team.
Participants learn how to be disciplined in their routines, work as
a team member and enjoy being able to perform in front of their
family and friends.
All of our teams wear fantastic costumes
that have been designed by our coaches and costume managers. The
Action Committee encourages all its members to become actively
involved in all club matters and welcomes new members to the sport.

History
Action Calisthenics began
in 1995 when a number of parents and coaches decided to form a
new calisthenics club in the ACT. This club would not only
provide fun activities for its participants but would add another
competitor to the Canberra competitions. Action started with
an enthusiastic committee, three dedicated coaches and some very
excited and keen participants. Since the clubs inception our
coaching team has built up its strengths and we continue to have a
very dedicated and supportive group of parents at both committee and
team levels. We currently have over 60 participants in the club and have
maintained similar figures for the last few years. Action is one of 8
clubs in the ACT with a combined total of up to 700 participants.
From 1999 to 2007 the
club has sent teams in the Seniors, Intermediates, Subbies and Juniors
age groups to compete in Ballarat . In 2002
our Seniors and Inters went to Sydney to participate in their
competitions. A large number of our girls have represented the
ACT over the last 11 years with coaches and officials from our club taking on
the roles
of rep team coaches, assistant coaches, chaperones and conveners from
2003 to 2007. From our humble
beginnings, very limited finances and no costumes, we have achieved a
great deal. We now have a fabulous selection of costumes and
props, 6 very dedicated coaches, sponsorship and a Year Book that
has been printed every year since 2000.
