Welcome to Brindabella Calisthenics College

Calisthenics is an exciting performing sport that can be enjoyed by everyone. It includes ballet, marching, gymnastics, singing, theatre, dancing and apparatus.

In other words: IT'S EVERYTHING!

The planning for Brindabella Calisthenics College commenced in September 1996 following the closure of two local Tuggeranong Clubs, this provided an opening for a fresh, new club in the Tuggeranong area.  Our five founding members working with a vision to start a club where coaches and parents worked together for the good of the girls brought Brindabella Calisthenics College to life.  The Club colours, the Brindabella logo, the sun setting over the Brindabella Mountains and a gecko later named Lipstick, our club mascot, were quickly organised.

The doors opened with 30 families at the beginning of 1997 and early expectations were quickly surpassed.  Many of the girls from these original families still compete today which illustrates the commitment and passion still fostered by the club today.  Highlights of that inaugural year included one of our coaches winning the Langdon trophy for best young coach (she still coaches with the club today) and 7 club members competing for the ACT at Nationals.  The club has continued to go from strength to strength with the number of families now exceeding 75 in 2008.

Brindabella Calisthenics College conducts classes for girls of all ages from Teenies (3 years old) to Seniors (adults). Classes range from 90 minutes to 3 hours in duration and are held in the hall at St Clare of Assisi Primary School in Heidelberg Street, Conder. Our emphasis is on fun, participation and team work.

Brindabella Calisthenics College has a fully experienced coaching staff that have all gained accreditation to Level One.  The College also offers Cadetships for experienced calisthenics girls to train as coaches.

Brindabella Calisthenics College is ably supported by volunteers from our college community who make up the committee. The committee provides administration and financial support to coaches and participants.

THANK YOU

The Brindabella Intermediates would like to thank all of our trivia night sponsors for their generous support especially our major sponsors Priceline Pharmacy (Woden), Active Leisure Centre, Bunnings, Capital Podiatry, Wurth, Michel’s Patisserie (Tuggeranong), and Coffee Guru (Southlife Tuggeranong).  Without their generous support the Trivia Night would not have been such an amazing success and some of our team would not be going to Queensland.   We were able to raise approximately $2800.  To show our appreciation in return we ask that club members give their generous support to these businesses and recommend their services to family and friends.  Please follow the link below for a list of all our trivia night sponsors.
