Costumes

Fabric for costumes is purchased on your behalf by the Costume Co-ordinator from monies obtained through the costume levy. (This levy is paid during first term of each Calisthenics year) Sewing instructions are supplied and it is essential that they are carefully adhered to.

If you do not sew, you may organize to make arrangements for a dressmaker or swap tasks set with another team member. e.g.: if you cannot sew with a machine/over locker but you can cut out, sew sequins etc, you could swap tasks. Any such sewing arrangements made between club members must be negotiated on an individual basis.

Help and assistance is gladly provided by the Costume Co-ordinator when difficulties arise. Do not become overwhelmed with thought of sewing a costume if you have little or no experience in sewing. Your team mates are there for support, assistance and guidance. Many strong friendships have been forged at Bundoora during "the costume making season"!

Whilst some new leotards and costumes are made each year, Bundoora Calisthenics Club endeavors to minimize costs and work to club members by "recycling" costumes where possible. Consequently, it is requested that all leotards and costumes are carefully stored by individuals for three years  and that these items are made available  in the event of  a recall.
  • purchase price is a maximum of 3/4 of the original price
  • loan arrangements are negotiated between individuals
  • hire fees will be set depending on the condition of the costume.
