All
Donvale coaches and cadets have participated in the Pupil Skills
program and are very enthusiastic about their callisthenics and most
importantly are excellent role models for our little performers.

Profiles:
Pam Nyman
Pam is
Donvale Calisthenics Club’s Principal coach and is qualified in all
facets of coaching as set by the Australian Calisthenics Federation
(ACF) Pam is experienced not only in the number of years coaching
but has coached successfully at Championship to Division 12 as well
as coaching interstate.
Pam has been a Senior Coach at Donvale for 15 years; in this time
has lead teams to over 50 Aggregates and received numerous CVI
awards such as: Regent Trophy, Nichol Trophy, Mr Music Award, Reeves
Family Trophy, Accent trophy and various Gold Divisional Cups. Other
awards include the Miss Vera Hopton Perpetual Trophy and Ray Pringle
Memorial trophy.
Pam is proud to see some of the solos she has coached win CVI open
and novice sections. Pam also coaches the successful Pupil Skills
Program and is mentor and supervisor to all our cadets in training.
In 2007 Pam was honoured with a Life Membership to the Donvale
Calisthenics Club
Candice Nyman
Candice has
been involved in calisthenics since she was 2 ½ years old. Began
helping Pam with the Tinies section at the age of 12 and since 2005
has been the Senior Coach of the Sub Juniors, Juniors, Intermediates
and Senior Sections, as well as performing in the Senior team.
Candice has represented Victoria in the National Calisthenics
Championships on ten occasions and 2008 we see her venture into a
coaching role with the Victorian State Team.
Candice’s forte is her creative choreography and this has been
awarded with the winning of several aggregates and CVI trophies -
2005 the Albion Trophy and in 2006 & 2007 a Divisional Gold Cup.
Candice has her Bronze medal in Pupil Skills and enjoys performing
and coaching solos.
Candice has a Batchelor of Education (primary) and has an excellent
rapport with students of all ages. Candice can find the balance
between working hard and having fun at class and competitions as
well as having the satisfaction of watching her teams advance
through the gradings.
Pauline Downie
Pauline started with Donvale Calisthenics Club in the Tinies,
continuing through to Juniors. Unfortunately lack of numbers
forced Pauline to move to another Calisthenics College to
compete. Pauline remained loyal to Donvale and began helping
with the younger age groups. Pauline has been assisting at
Donvale for 16 years, and in this time received her Level 1 accreditation.
In 2003 Pauline was able to return to Donvale to compete again as a
Senior.
Pauline's mother, three sisters and 4 nieces have all competed at
Donvale.
In 2001 Pauline was awarded a Life Membership to Donvale
Calisthenics Club and in 2008 Pauline will receive 25 year
long standing service and dedication award.
Pauline is an active committee member and in 2008 will be senior coach
of the Masters section as well as continuing her active coaching
roles in the Tinies, Juniors and Intermediates.
Laura Hall
Laura has
been involved with the Donvale Calisthenics Club for 16 years, she
began with the club at the age of 4. Laura has completed her
Grade 4 pupil skills and is looking forward to completing her Level
1
coaching accreditation.
Laura began assisting with the Juniors in 2000 as a cadet. In 2006
Laura took on more responsibility as assistant coach in the
Tinies, Subbies, Juniors and Inters sections.
2008 sees Laura remain with the Tinies and Junior sections as well
as performing in the Seniors and competing in graceful solo
competitions. Laura is studying at La Trobe University to
graduate as a physio.
